POWER

DO NOT PAY YOUR TAXES. TAKE A STAND. MAKE YOUR VOICE HEARD. TAKE BACK THE POWER. THIS REPUBLIC BELONGS TO THE CITIZENS. GET ANGRY. GET PISSED. GET GOING.

I read somewhere 65 percent of Republican leaders believe Trump's phone call--the no quid pro quo now acceptable quid pro quo--is acceptable.

I saw where Mitch McConnell said impeachment will be dead on arrival when it arrives in the Senate.

Lindsay Graham excuses President Trump's Ukrainian policy as too incoherent and too ramshackle as to be taken seriously.

Jim Jordan says the only valid testimony is from Kurt Volker.

Have you ever seriously wondered what is happening to our political system? Our democracy was once the envy of the world. Now? We have politicians bought and paid for by special interests. We have a president, vice president, Senate majority leader, House minority leader and assorted minions, gophers, sycophants and go-betweens who tell us it's okay for the U.S. president to withhold aid to a country until that country provides compromising information on the son of a political opponent in the 2020 presidential election.

Have we lost all integrity as a people? Does our republic mean nothing?

President Trump barnstorms in Louisiana, Kentucky, Ohio and mocks our institutions because his narcissism prevents him from seeing that the institutions he mocks and degrades make it possible for such as disgusting, filthy, diseased and repulsive individual as Donald Trump to not only exist but also to flourish.

Our political institutions are bigger than a narcissist. They are bigger than a McConnell, a Schumer, a Pelosi or a Jordan. Our political institutions are us, the venerable American people. The American people! Christ! Am I the only American person who is so sick to the point of retching of hearing a politician inveigh our namesake to promote his corrupt, venal and degenerate agenda? THE AMERICAN PEOPLE DESERVE BETTER THAN THE SCUM IN THE CAPITOL.

Here is what will transpire. The Democrats will impeach Trump by Christmas. By the new year, the Republican-controlled Senate will give Trump a pass. Trump and his mindless minions will claim victory. The Democrats will regroup for the inevitable backlash. Trump will barnstorm. McConnell will emerge from his shell and continue his assault on SCOTUS. Jim Jordan will cackle. Mike Pence will cringe. Mike Pompeo will weathercock. And the American people will get the great big dick pissing right in their eye.

Trump will be impeached and will be exonerated. And, unless he does shoot someone on 5th Avenue, he will be elected to a second term.

Borrowing from one of my favorite films, "V for Vendetta":

"Good evening, London. Allow me first to apologize for this interruption. I do, like many of you, appreciate the comforts of everyday routine- the security of the familiar, the tranquility of repetition. I enjoy them as much as any bloke. But in the spirit of commemoration, whereby those important events of the past, usually associated with someone's death or the end of some awful bloody struggle, a celebration of a nice holiday, I thought we could mark this November the 5th, a day that is sadly no longer remembered, by taking some time out of our daily lives to sit down and have a little chat. There are of course those who do not want us to speak. I suspect even now, orders are being shouted into telephones, and men with guns will soon be on their way. Why? Because while the truncheon may be used in lieu of conversation, words will always retain their power. Words offer the means to meaning, and for those who will listen, the enunciation of truth. And the truth is, there is something terribly wrong with this country, isn't there? Cruelty and injustice, intolerance and oppression. And where once you had the freedom to object, to think and speak as you saw fit, you now have censors and systems of surveillance coercing your conformity and soliciting your submission. How did this happen? Who's to blame? Well certainly there are those more responsible than others, and they will be held accountable, but again truth be told, if you're looking for the guilty, you need only investigate a mirror. I know why you did it. I know you were afraid. Who wouldn't be? War, terror, disease. There was a myriad of problems which conspired to corrupt your reason and rob you of your common sense. Fear got the best of you, and in your panic, you turned to the now high chancellor, Adam Sutler. He promised you order, he promised you peace, and all he demanded in return was your silent, obedient consent. Last night I sought to end that silence. Last night I destroyed the Old Bailey, to remind this country of what it has forgotten. More than four hundred years ago a great citizen wished to embed the fifth of November forever in our memory. His hope was to remind the world that fairness, justice, and freedom are more than words, they are perspectives. So, if you've seen nothing, if the crimes of this government remain unknown to you, then I would suggest you allow the fifth of November to pass unmarked. But if you see what I see, if you feel as I feel, and if you would seek as I seek, then I ask you to stand beside me one year from tonight, outside the gates of Parliament, and together we shall give them a fifth of November that shall never, ever be forgot."

The bastards believe we have no power. The bastards believe we will lay back and think of the empire. The bastards believe the American people are so spineless, so weak, so GODDAMN complacent and so GODDAMN spoiled that we are incapable of revolting against our oppressors and confronting them. Jim Jordan, Mitch McConnell and the rest of the WASP brigade believe they can do whatever they want with impunity. I SAY THEY ARE WRONG.

So, borrowing from V, if you feel as ANGRY as I do. If you feel as FED UP as I. If you are SICK TO DEATH OF POLITICIANS who believe they can do whatever the HELL they want without repercussions, then I ask you to join me on the day when the REPUBLICAN-CONTROLLED SENATE EXONERATES TRUMP. On that day, I ask you to rise with ME and proclaim, resolutely: IF TRUMP STAYS, WE DO NOT PAY. Meaning, if Trump remains in office, we do not pay FEDERAL, STATE AND LOCAL INCOME TAXES.

Think about it. The Senate will let off our despicable, amoral, reprehensible and amateur president. It's a guarantee. As sure as McConnell polishing off a head of lettuce and Jordan cheating someone on a used car. (And Pence clapping, expecting a fish.)

What is our recourse? Our leaders are bought and sold. They no longer represent us. All they truly care about is lucre. So, let's deny them their honey. Let's starve them of their nectar. Trump stays? Fine. WE DON'T PAY. WE DON'T PAY. WE DON'T PAY. The hell with them and the bought burros they rode in on.
